Newington Village Football Club

Newington Village Football Club were formed in 2000 and joined the Sheppey Sunday League. After a successful period, which included promotions and cup final appearances, Newington switched their allegiance to the Medway Sunday League, where they joined the Combination Division in 2005.

Newington Village FC finished 5th in their first season in the Combination and followed that up with a creditable sixth place in Division 5 in 2006/07.

Promotion was gained to Division 3 after the 2007/08 season, when Newington Village finished 3rd in the league, just one point behind runners up Inter Gills. Newington also had a great cup run in the KCFA Junior Trophy, reaching the last 8 of the county wide competition.

The 2008/09 season was one of mixed fortunes, with the high being a semi-final in the Junior Charity Cup, and the lows some of the ridiculous games lost to poor opposition - something which needs to be eradicated from Newington's game for next season! Incredibly, despite finishing only seventh in the league, Newington Village have been promoted to Division Two of the MMSFL, as once again the league restructure to allow for teams that have folded...

Newington are now looking to strengthen the side and continue to improve on their showings of last season!
